The Springville Museum of Art has been called “a sanctuary of beauty and temple of contemplation.” And indeed it is one of the loveliest and most unique buildings in the state of Utah, not only for it’s architecture, but also for it’s collection of Utah, American and Russian art. Vern Swanson, as the director for over 30 years, has had no small part in taking the museum from a small local institution to a much larger nationally recognized museum. This book contains the history of that transformation and large color plates of the most important art from the Museum’s collection.
